Bonfires

This weekend was the Hastings Bonfire and it was one of the best ones there has been I think. Took a few pics but they didn't come out too well. The first one I liked because she had really big eyes and looked kind of sinister.

The second one was one of the big fireworks.

We had a picnic on the beach and watched the fireworks with a bottle of plonk, and some yummy finger food.

This is me with my usual cheesy grin.....

Anyway, I am very busy at the moment at work in particular and am desperately trying to get as much sewing done as I can but it's very hard when you have a full time job as well :-(

Ta Ta for now

Just another Thursday evening...........

I love living here.

Last night we went on a torchlit tour of the Smugglers Caves and then walked down into the Old Town where there was a 1940's themed street party going on, with free live music, stalls, food and the atmosphere was fantastic. Loads of people dressed up and it was excellent.

Fantastic live band outside the First Inn, Last Out. We asked them what they were called to be told that 'we don't really have a name, we just all get together and play now and then'. They did a sort of 'Happy Mondays' meets Salsa version of The Pussy Cat Dolls song 'Don't Ya' which was inspired. Their style was a mix up of Reggae, Latin and Fat Boy Slim. Very strange but it worked.

Apparently they are playing at the Bonfire night on Saturday so I am really looking forward to that.

It was great though, almost like a celebration that we have the town back to ourselves after all the tourists have gone home (not that I mind the tourists, we need them), but it's nice when the town goes back to being normal after the busy summer.

Also managed to go into Made and give them an update on my stuff and have a chat which was nice.

Anyhoo, that's all from me.

And the winner is..........

For most sarcastic comment, the award goes to Gigibird's Neighbour...... thanks for that. I think. Send me your address to woo(at)wgdesigns(dot)co(dot)uk and I'll send you a corsage.

Thank you also for your nice comments. I am very lucky to have such a nice and large workroom but it hasn't always been so. Here is my last workroom at my old address which was about the size of an very small box room, and for those of you who didn't think I was that untidy, feast your eyes.....

This weekend, I went to London and spent 5 hours, yes, 5 HOURS in Liberty. Liberty is my favourite shop in the whole world and I want some of my ashes to be scattered there in the haberdashery dept. Anyway, I was incrediby restrained and just bought some ribbon, but if I had the money, I would have gone crazy.

As far as the Made in Hastings order is concerned, I am doing pretty well. Will post some photos when I can. At the moment I have a big pile of half finished Love Bunnies, almost finished the lavender sachets and have 7 more bags to finish. Then I need to make some Bag Monsters. So no rest for the wicked.

This weekend coming (13th) is Hastings Bonfire, which is absolutely brilliant. They have a great big torchlit procession through the streets and then a huge bonfire and firework display on the beach. My only problem is that I am terrified of fireworks, but I like watching them. I'll try and be brave but I expect I won't be. When I was a kid, I almost got hit by a firework that came into the crowd at a display and I got trampled when people panicked, so I get very nervous.

Catch you later.
