Something Silly

There is a large rubber spider hanging off the vine that grows outside my front door. I was very happy to discover that a REAL spider has set up home inside it. It really tickles my humour because the rubber spider is massive and looks like a tarantula, but the real one is tiny.

I shall upload a pic when I get a good one.

Made me laugh anyway.

Weaving

Well yesterday I attended a course to learn how to create and thread a warp onto my loom, and my goodness was it complicated! Blimey. My dreams of a fantastic mohair throw by Sunday have all gone, and I think I'll be lucky if I manage one by the year 2010!

Anyway, I did manage to create a small sample on the course and was very pleased with it, but today I have tried to create a warp myself and I'm getting into all kinds of bother! I shall keep trying though and post some updates.....

Some good news, my fav shop 'Made In Hastings' will be stocking some of my handmade items from the end of August, so I am chuffed about that.

More news soon.

JAWS!

Last night we went to see Jaws on the beach......it was brilliant. As part of the Hastings 'Shot by the Sea' Film festival organised by the fabulous Electric Palace Cinema, Jaws was screened in the open air, right by the sea. We took a blanket and sat on the stones. It was excellent. Everyone cheered when the shark gets it at the end.

I hope they continue to do more of these as it was great fun and a brilliant atmosphere.

There was a wide range of people there, a few that were maybe a bit drunk, but it didn't spoil it. Some people had bought their supper down and ate it whilst they watched.

Thoroughly enjoyable. It's so great living here sometimes!
